As the largest, leading bike manufacturer in the United States, it is not surprising that Trek has been producing a bunch of high-quality bikes. The brand is getting more serious in the gravel bike industry by launching their Checkpoint gravel bike lanes. And Trek Checkpoint AL 4 is part of the line. For those of you who are interested in buying this gravel bike, it will be better if you read the review below before deciding to buy one.

Review of Trek Checkpoint AL 4 Gravel Bike

If you are just entering the world of gravel riding, the Checkpoint AL 4 is an ideal option for you. This trek e gravel bike is made of a lightweight aluminium frame as well as durable parts that will not quit on you when your skills get better. Moreover, this gravel bike also offers incredible versatility. Available in grey and blue, it has extra mounts to make it easy for you to add racks and bags for touring and daily commutes.

The frameset features alpha 200 series aluminium, tapered head-tube, flat-mount disc brakes, 12mm thru-axle, internal cable routing, rack mounts, and hidden fender mounts. Besides the obvious full mudguard mounts, there is a third bottle cage mount under the down tube. This is useful for a spare bottle when you are on a long ride. The 2 cage mounts within the main triangle each offer low or high fitting positions. This way, you can adjust it to your preference and frame bag fitment.

There is a top tube mount behind the stem for a fuel or essentials bag. Trek Checkpoint AL 4 can take racks both front and rear. Each tube, except the round seat tube, is heavily shaped. The head tube is sculpted to resemble some of Trek’s other bikes, the top tube is flattened, and the seatstays create an arc between the rear dropouts and seat tube. The fork is slightly curved as well. But this model does not feature IsoSpeed.

With Hydraulic Disc Brakes

The hydraulic discs with 150mm rotors provide greatly modulated, powerful braking with minimal lever pressure. No matter how rough the surface you are on, the drivetrain smoothly shifted every time. Moreover, the Control Freak cable routing system pulls them all in the top of the down tube.

That is the review of Trek Checkpoint AL 4 gravel bike. This gravel bike is great on the open road and nearly all terrains.
