Specialized Gravel Bike

Specialized gravel bike does have a broad meaning. A road bike that has the ability to be invited through offroad routes. Over time, new products in this category are increasingly nudged the MTB realm. With the use of larger tires, the use of suspensions, and the geometry that is increasingly similar to the MTB. And now, there are gravel bikes with flat bars!

Specialized, a Californian company known to be aggressive in developing bicycles, has released their latest gravel weapon: Diverge 2021. This bike is prepared to invade the market of all segments. Starting from the super-expensive S-Works version to the affordable aluminum version.

Is the specialized diverge a gravel bike?

In general, Specialized Gravel Bike makes this new Diverge even more flexible for all terrains and needs. Now it can be used with wider tires, up to 47 mm for the 700c. You can still use the MTB size wheelset, 650b, with 2.1-inch wide tires.

Another big update is geometry. In general, these bikes are made with a longer wheelbase. The location of the BB is slightly higher to provide more clearance (the pedal doesn’t hit the ground easily when turning). The fork angle is adjusted, and the use of shorter stems is carried out, so that the handling character still feels agile.

Usually, bikes like this draw the most attention to their most expensive versions. But Diverge 2021 also makes people focus on the cheap version. There is a version of the Diverge Evo, using aluminum. This Evo version has a slightly different geometry, getting closer to the MTB. Also wear a flat bar!

with the ability to be fitted with fenders, shelves, and others to make this Diverge according to the needs / desires of the owner. Make a beat on gravel roads or for long distance adventure/touring. There is also a storage space for equipment in the downtube, which can be accessed by opening the bottle cage area.

The most recent update is on the front. This Diverge uses Future Shock 2.0 for the expensive variant. There is a small suspension between the headtube and stem. Before this, the suspension was using spring alias spring. Now using the hydraulic system. And the level of hardness can be adjusted via the play button above the stem.
